Before you batch it.

The short version: keep it cold, keep the base pale, and expect acid to move the shade toward teal.

How much blue spirulina should I use per litre?

Around 1 g per litre is a practical starting point for drinks and pale bases. Clear drinks often need less; creamy or opaque bases usually need more.

Does blue spirulina work in lemonade?

Yes. Lemon and lime push phycocyanin from blue toward teal, so lemonade is better treated as a blue-green citrus drink than a pure blue one.

Is blue spirulina heat stable?

It is best handled cold or added late. Long heat exposure can dull the colour, especially in acidic systems.

What bases show the brightest colour?

Cold, pale bases show the strongest blue: coconut water, milk, oat milk, vanilla dessert bases, white chocolate, pale frostings, and light cosmetic bases.
